Wellness at Work,

Wellness at School

Career and academic wellness help us manage our educational and work lives, developing skills and moving closer to goals. Many of us tie aspects of our identities -- how we define our lives, friendships and self-esteem -- into our jobs or careers. No wonder, since we spend most of our days at work or school!

At different times in our lives we may wish to concentrate on improving our careers, working on academic projects or doing both at the same time. It can be difficult to balance our passions and interests with the ability to take care of ourselves and our families.

Finding meaning and enjoyment in our professional lives can help lessen pressures in other areas. We can do this in a number of ways:

  • Pursuing education -- training courses to degrees -- at any time of life
  • Navigating interpersonal relationships
  • Balancing responsibilities at work and at home
  • Setting personal and professional goals
